We need help funding a solicitor to get a civil injunction to protect our daughter from the man that abducted her two years ago.

Two years ago, our daughter was at her best friend's birthday sleepover. At around 2pm the following day, they went to the local park with another young girl. They raced to get to the exit, taking different paths to get to there. Our daughter never made it to the exit, instead, she was grabbed from behind, dragged into the woods where a man attempted to tie her to a tree.

When she didn't arrive at the exit, her friends got worried and started calling out to her, the man heard this, dropped our daughter on the ground and ran.

When the girls found her, they called one of the mothers, rushed her back to the house and called the police.

The man was arrested less than 2 hours later as a direct result of the description she gave, a man known to the police to be dangerous, a man with a long history of this type of behavior.

Our daughter positively identified this same man on two different occasions, in two different types of identification process.

He was taken to court, everyone was convinced he'd be found guilty, but a screw up in the transcription and the fact that our daughter was 10 at the time, where as his previous victims hadn't been younger than 13 led to us having to hear the words not guilty.

He lives locally, and though we've seen him from time to time, but until recently, he has always stayed away.

Towards the end of October this year, I was walking with our daughter and our two little dogs around to where I work. It is along a very large, busy main road, an A road. He was on the opposite side, walking in our direction. We were almost there, our daughter hadn't seen him, so I picked up the pace and kept going. He looked right at us, and without even checking the traffic, walked straight across the road, in front of cars, right at us. We ran to work, and stayed there until we were sure he was gone.

Two days later, our daughter is walking to school. It's less than a 5 minute walk. She leaves our house, turns onto the road with the school on it, and after about 30 seconds, he emerges from a small pathway on the opposite side of the road that leads to a wooded area. He followed her down the road, until just before the school, at which point he turns off and heads towards a park and another wooded area.

We keep her with us throughout the school holidays.

On her first day back at school, the same thing happens, he emerges from the same pathway as she passes, follows her to the same point, and goes back down to the park/wooded area.

The police are called, they take it all very seriously, we give statements, our daughter is then called in to give a video statement. This takes a few days in total, during which time we don't let her out of our sight. The police have put us on a 999 priority list, they've arranged for a local group to come fit added security to our house, arranged for us all to have personal alarms and they go to arrest him.

They are told by a neighbour that he isn't there, he's gone to visit friends, does this fairly often and they've no idea when he'll be back. During their investigation, he is accused of committing another crime, this time, of theft. They track his phone and find out that he has left the area, put out a notice to all stations that if seen, he is to be arrested and held.

When he's arrested, he is found with the items he's accused of having stolen, he denies having followed our daughter, the police are still gathering evidence, but they can't hold him, everyone knows he is guilty, they all know his is dangerous, but they have to treat him as an innocent man with no connection to our daughter, their hands are tied.

We have been told we need to get a civil injunction against this man, that not only will it potentially make him stay away from her, but if he doesn't confirms beyond a doubt that his intentions are not innocent.

The problem?

It isn't covered by legal aid, the majority of solicitors only deal with domestic civil injunctions, and we simply can't afford it.

We now have a solicitor prepared to take the case, and we're begging you to please help us help our daughter.

She is an amazing girl, so brave, so smart, but it is killing us seeing what this is doing to her. She used to love going to her friend's houses, now she spends her time in after school clubs or at home with us. She has to be walked to school every day, picked up by her parents. She used to have lovely long blonde hair, she demanded we shave it short after the first time she saw him, so "she's look like a boy and he wouldn't like her any more"

Please help us get our daughter back!
