We come to you with heartfelt admiration for our beloved father, the master of humorous sarcasm and the epitome of devotion. For over three decades, he tirelessly worked as an overseas Filipino worker, sacrificing his time away from home to provide for our family. And about the same time, his journey with Diabetes began.

For over 30 years, our dad was prescribed to take between 7-10 pills every day since his diagnosis. Ironically as it turns out, it was curing and hurting him at the same time.

He was rushed to the ER last month bec he collapsed while having dinner at home. Doctors found out he had a blood infection [Sepsis], pneumonia and water in his lungs, and a blood sugar level of 500 that was causing all the other symptoms.

WHERE WE ARE NOW:

  • After a series of tests and re-tests, doctors confirmed he's in Stage 3B Chronic Kidney Disease - ERG between 30-44, which means a moderate decrease in kidney function.
  • He is being tested every 30 minutes for his blood glucose sugar level bec it has been crazy erratic. On one test, he would be at 250, and on the next would shoot up to 450. According to his Diabetician, if we don't stabilize the level, it could lead to severe complications like heart attack, stroke, nerve damage, kidney damage, and blood infection, among other things.
  • His oral meds are no longer working and are causing more harm to his pancreas and kidney, so Insulin pens are our way forward to help manage his blood glucose sugar level.
  • All antibiotics are being administered via IV now, which means finding a new vein every day, which was not the easiest because he has a limited number of solid veins.
  • He has a team of specialist doctors in Internal Medicine (endocrinologists, cardiologists, nephrologists, pulmonologists), and a Dietician working hard on him to manage all of his symptoms.

The unfortunate reality in the Philippines is that healthcare insurance packages are less inclusive for those who need it the most - senior citizens and elderlies. Pacific Cross and Maxicare are the only two insurance [that we know of] that somehow accommodates elderly beneficiaries; however, both excludes pre-existing condition in their policy

And that meant the last month's expenses in the hospital, doctors fees and meds had all been coming from personal pockets.

This is where your generosity and support come in. Our family finds itself in a financial crisis, burdened by mounting medical expenses.

IV Insulin Bag = Php 2500 per week [USD 45 / week]

Ryzodeg Insulin Pen + Neddle = Php2000 [usage for two days]

Php 7000 / week [USD 125 / week]

Dialysis = Php 3600 [USD 64] Twice a week

Php3600 * 2 sessions / week = Php7200 [USD 130/week]

Blood Glucose Sugar test = Php267 [test done every hour]

Php267 * 24hrs = Php 6048 / day [USD 110/day]

To my Nestle Family, Nutren is now part of our dad's special diet.

If you can donate / give a discounted rate for each can would really appreciate it.

Our running hospital bill is roughly Php300,000 [USD 5400] on top of all his doctor's fees that needs to be paid in cash only.

We humbly ask for your donations to help cover these urgent costs, ensuring that our father receives the medical care he so desperately needs.

At this point, we know some battles are not meant to be won.

It hurts to admit, but all of these are no longer life-saving measures but to ensure we give our dad a comfortable, pain-free quality of life.

Your donation, no matter how big or small, will have a lasting impact on our family. We are eternally grateful for your kindness and support.

Please donate today and help our father have a peaceful and pain-free homecoming.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Beo Family
