Dear friends and family. I am reaching out to all of you in time for my birthday, to help raise funds for my Father who is fighting Stage 4 Lung Cancer.

My dad, Jose V. Guiang, was diagnosed with the said lung cancer with brain metastasis around the same time last year. For 1 year now the whole family has been battling the Big C. We have been going back and forth to the hospital, being admitted for weeks in Makati Medical Center, checkups in St. Lukes Medical Center BGC, sessions of radiation therapy, eventually leading to a treatment of oral chemotherapy with monthly injections. Not to mention the time he experienced seizures (the scariest moment of my life).

With all of these on the table, our bills and medical expenses have been tough. Imagine 1 oral chemo tablet (Tagrisso) is priced at 11,097 pesos which he has to take once a day and has been taking since December 2018. A monthly injection (XGEVA) would costs 25,300 pesos, and then more of his monthly CT scans and laboratory tests, other drug maintenance, being admitted would cost us 6 digits already even with senior citizen discount. But with each peso is a stronger prayer, no pain experienced, his lung tumor is stable, 9 tumors in the brain now down to 2!! His appetite is good, getting stronger physically, and not much side effects aside from losing hair.

But for those of you who have known and even met my dad, he is a positive man, strong and outspoken, very adventurous (don’t get me started on his shell collection), loves cooking, and is an okay singer LOL He is my hiking and travel buddy too! He has been with me all the years of my life and because of all of that I will be fighting with him especially now that he is a grandfather to his 2 apos. He still has so much left in the tank to experience and spend time with Jaden & Soleil.

And so I want to thank everyone who has been with us, helping us, and praying for us every day. Thank you so much. I hope you understand my purpose for doing this but i guess that’s the only thing that come to mind on my birthday this year. A little help on our medical expenses will really go a long way. It is not a simple birthday wish but I guess there is no harm in trying. 🙂

Feel free to message my dad and me. If you wish to contribute directly, here are his bank details
