Campaign Story
My dearest Lolo Oca is diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer and needs chemotheraphy to keep him alive.
He has been going in and out of the hospital for months and has undergone surgery twice—one for kidney stones and another for cataract. A huge amount was spent for those surgeries along with medical bills, and his colon cancer puts us in a dire financial situation.
Lolo Oca is a retired factory worker who used to work long hours in an electric fan company just so he can send his children to school and let them pursue their dreams. To sustain his daily essentials, he relies on his monthly pension. But due to his current condition, what he receives now is insufficient. While his children are chipping in for his recovery, they are workers with meager incomes and the past hospital bills, along with the mounting medication for his chemotheraphy, has bled our savings dry.
A gentle man who strives for his family, my Lolo Oca has always been generous—he would shower us with presents even if it's not our birthday, celebrate our wins no matter how small, and would always, in all ways, extend his hand whenever my family is in need.
He is present during our school activities, life-changing decisions, and was there since I was 5 years old—taking care of me while my parents go to work. Now, it's my turn to help him the best way that I can through this platform. I can see how much he wants to fight for his life, and I will be by his side fighting with him.
