Help Our Baby Jacob Fight Sepsis

Hello, Everyone!

I'm Baby Christopher Jacob and I was born last June 10, barely a week ago to my parents Mommy Jen and Daddy Timothy Alañon. Everyone in the family was very happy when I came along because I am a Miracle Baby, the doctors said. The chances of me being conceived were very, very tiny but I made it! Sadly, I suffered from septic shock and will need your prayers and donations to get me through.

WHAT HAPPENED:

I was born in the hospital at the right size and weight. It looked like everything should have been fine but I suddenly had difficulty breathing just a few hours after coming out my mommy's womb. I was diagnosed with neonatal pneumonia so I was placed in an incubator. Because I could not breathe unassisted, I had to be put on a respirator. I was also given antibiotics to be completed in 7 days. I was slowly getting better and even got moved to a bassinet. I was excited to room in with my Mom!

Sadly, I had a bad turn on Day 5. I was already a rosy pink and getting wiggly the nurses said but suddenly I became weak and had problems breathing again.

I was then intubated and transferred to NICU (intensive care for us sick or premature babies) with a diagnosis of septic shock. I had to be put on a respirator, they changed my medications to a stronger antibiotic, had blood transfusion and more tests had to be made.

ICU COSTS ARE GROWING:

I am still in the NICU and the hospital costs are piling up real fast. I have to stay longer here and maybe get a spinal tap and other tests, my doctor said. My mommy and daddy are having difficulty keeping up with all my expenses.

I am already starting to get better little by little. I just need more time in the hospital and get more tests done. We hope you can help by donating. Even just a little will help a lot!
