Help Orphaned and Abandoned Babies in India

Over the last three weeks I have been volunteering at Bless Children’s Home in Tamil Nadu, India. Bless is a not for profit organisation that runs a children’s home, women empowerment programmes, sanitation programmes and activity centres for children in rural villages. During my time here I have been able to see the positive effect that Bless is having on the 30 boys in their care and the rural villages.

Bless Children’s Home has recently been informed by the government that they will soon be also accommodating and taking care of orphaned and abandoned babies and children under five until they are adopted. The government does not however fund the start up costs needed to prepare for the arrival of these children and babies and at the moment Bless is only set up to home children over the age of five. I want to see Bless succeed in providing these disadvantaged children with a fair start in life.

As Bless is an NGO it runs on the donations and support of businesses, trusts and people like you and me. My goal is to raise enough money to support Bless in buying 3 cradles and 5 cots to give these vunurable babies and children an adequate place to sleep and rest. Any money over the target raised will be used to purchase other essentials such as baby formula, bottles, blankets etc.

Any money that you can donate would be greatly appreciated and will make a difference in the lives of these babies and children who are either orphaned or cannot be supported or cared for by their families. Being here I can assure you that the money will go directly to Bless and to providing these children with the essential basics in life, such as a place to sleep.
