Note from Bandit's BandAid - Lisa and Jerry Johnson will be contributing $1,800 towards Odie's medical bills at the VCA Veterinary Specialists so this campaign is to cover the balance of the surgery costs.

From Odie's owner Lisa - Odie is my handsome Pembroke Welsh Corgi that is the love of my and my husband's life. Odie has just been diagnosed with internal cysts and bladder stones that need to be removed. Per Dr. Sherrill of VCA Veterinary Specialists we need to move forward as soon as possible with surgery to open and drain the cysts and remove the stones before they travel into the urethra and create a blockage. I was told that blockages can cause the bladder to rupture which can be deadly.

Odie is also in some pain after a visit he had with my regular vet when the latest problems first began. They took him in the back to examine him, do a urinalysis and a heartworm test. When he was returned to me he was limping and holding his head with a tilt. I was told that he tried to jump off the examining table and the vet caught him on his right side. As you can imagine I was very upset and will never work with this practice again. I am hoping any injuries from that situation are not serious and will clear up with pain meds and rest.

Odie had surgery last year to remove a tumor in his neck and to also remove some bladder stones. It should be noted that we have followed veterinary instructions concerning Odie's diet but these stones have continued to form. I was able to get Care Credit to use for that surgery bill and have been working hard to pay off the balance, but I have already had to use most of the newly available balance for the tests Odie needed. His most recent visit included a consultation with neurology about his neck issues, and with internal medicine and surgery, as well as doing blood work and an abdominal ultrasound plus medications. We paid close to $1,000 for that visit and put down an additional $800 towards his future surgery bill.

We now need to get Odie into surgery as soon as possible. We have scheduled him for October 25th and thanks to Bandit's BandAid we can receive a nonprofit discount but the surgery is still far more than we can afford at this time. We are so grateful for any assistance that can be provided for our special boy.
