Nina Esguerra in her young lifetime has undergone two brain surgeries. The first result of her tumor biopsy was benign. This time though, her tumor biopsy result is malignant. She is diagnosed with brain cancer (astrocytoma grade 4 IDH mutant). A step down from glioblastoma multiforme. As per her neuro oncologist, she will undergo 6 cycles concomittant oral chemo and radiation therapy. It will last for 6 months. Despite the non reassurance of the Doctor about the success of her treatment, Niña continues to be optimistic and is willing to fight this battle. From the time she had her 1st brain surgery until now, she has lived her life always grateful for what she has despite her condition. She also experiences seizures as an effect. Despite her condition, it never limited her to live her life normally as she actually acts as a breadwinner for their family.
