I am Romina A. Bernabe 24 years old and is currently a working at an Orthopedic Medical Company in Quezon City, at the same time I am studying and taking up Financial Management currently on my 3rd year in College. My family is from Barangay 1 Quezon, Nueva Ecija.

The Reason why I am writing this now is that my Family and I would like to seek financial assistance to help and support my mother’s medical needs.

Her name is Domeneda A. Bernabe, 63 years old, she was diagnosed suffering with Stage 4 Metastasis which already reached her Lungs, Heart, Liver and Bones.

Let me tell you her story.

It all started February 2018 when she started coughing, after a week of coughing we decided to bring her to a checkup at a near Public Health Center in Quezon, Nueva Ecija, her checkup went on smoothly and was given medications for her cough. Weeks passed by but the medications seems not giving her any relief and has no effect. April came and still her cough is still recurring, we then decided to bring her to a near public hospital and undergone laboratory tests where she was diagnosed with Pneumonia.

Her Doctor advised her to stay confined at the hospital for observation and proper medication to cure her Pneumonia. After 1 week of confinement she was released from the hospital and continued her medications at home.

After one week of home medications, she started to feel strange back pains down to her hips. We thought that this is normal and that her back pains are just caused by her severe coughing. But after another week things got worse, she started to complain numbness on her feet and legs causing her unable to walk or move. My family decided to bring her back to the doctor, this time with a bone specialist because we thought my mom is just suffering from rheumatism or just lacking from a nerve vitamins causing her to feel pain and numbness.

With the descriptions and pain my mom was telling, the doctor suggested for her to undergo MRI Test, which is an expensive test. We know this is needed for us to know what is causing her not to walk and feel pain on different parts of her body but finances started to go down because of multiple hospitalizations and medications that my mom is taking. With the help of some people she undergone MRI Test. Few days after her MRI test while waiting for the results, she felt another pain and this time she is having difficulty breathing.

We again rushed her to the hospital, this time we brought her to a Private hospital, because she’s been in and out from different hospital but cure to what she is suffering. The doctor advised us that another test is needed to support the initial finding which they have not told us exactly as of yet. This time we are asked to prepare for CT scan. We again asked some relatives and friends to help financially luckily we were able to gain enough money for the CT Scan.

After waiting for several more days, the doctor approached us to discuss about their findings, the real reason why she is not getting better after so many medicines she is taking. The scariest part of our life, the doctor revealed that my mom is suffering from the dreaded disease, Stage 4 Metastasis which already reached her Lungs, Heart, Liver and Bones. We were told that this is the last and terminal stage.

The world crashed around me when I heard this from her doctor, my family got so emotional asking why this happened to her. But this happen for a reason and we know God will not leave us during this time of our lives.

With this news that the doctor told us we decided to bring my mom home, and just continue with what is ahead of us, we decided to bring her home to take care of her at home and show her all the love she can get and whatever medicine can get to ease the pain she is experiencing and also to lessen hospital expenses because we are already financially down. With this being said she need to have oxygen support for her to breath and regularly needs to nebulize. And Oxygen costs 8 thousand per tank plus other medications that she was prescribed to take.

With this being said we are seeking for your help of any financial assistance. Any donation will be much appreciated as we needed to also make sure that she will feel comfortable during these days of my mom’s life. We love her so much that we will do everything to make her feel loved and comfortable even if we all know that she is really in pain.

WE would like to extend our sincerest appreciation as early as now for your Prayers and for your financial help.
