Campaign Story
My name is Nico Nomyayi and I am currently 22 years of age. I obtained my degree from the University of Cape Town in December 2016. Since then, I have been trying to kickstart my career by applying for different internships and I have failed countlessly in all my attempts. With almost a year wasted trying to apply for jobs, a declining economy and higher rates of youth unemployment, I then decided to try my luck elsewhere.
I recently decided to start a new career outside the country; China to be specific. I went through a lengthy application process and applied to the Web International English Center as an ESL teacher. ESL stands for English as a Second Language. I will therefore be teaching English to students of various ages. I will be located in Jiangyin City, in the coastal Chinese province, Jiangsu, which is North of Shanghai. My contract is a one-year contract (It is renewable should I want to renew it) starting in March 1st, 2018, ending in March 1st, 2019.
The reason why I wrote this letter is because I am in desperate need of your assistance. My job covers a limited portion of my trip and some of the funds must be chipped out of my own pocket. I have to cover the cost of my own visa and the cost of my own flight. I need to have come up with a total amount of R15 000 by mid-February. I herein plead with you to reach down in your pocket and donate any amount that you possibly can. Your donation will help me a great deal and it is truly appreciated.
