Since 2010, Transparency School has welcomed more than 900 youth leaders from around 110 countries worldwide.
I am Nhlanhla Khumalo from Pretoria, South Africa.
I have been admitted to the Transparency International School on Integrity taking place at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 2-8 July 2018. This is the ninth iteration of an annual Summer School which offer intensive anti-corruption training for future leaders.
This offer does not come with a scholarship. As such I need to raise 1700 EUR to be able to go. 600 EUR is for the participation fee and the rest, 1100 EUR is for travel costs. The participation fee covers tuition, accommodation for 7 nights, meals and ground transport in Vilnius.
I have a few days to confirm my acceptance to the school, by paying the participation fee of 600 EUR by Friday the 15 June 2018. I also need to allow for time for
the visa to be processed. The Embassy of Lithuanian in Pretoria needs
about 15 calendar days to process the visa. I will pay for the visa cost at 60 EUR.
I have over eight years’ experience in the public service. I am currently in the Strategy, Planning and
Monitoring Division of the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), an agency of the
Department of Trade and Industry in South Africa. Over the many years working in government, I have
seen many cases of corruption. I know that there is a lack of faith in public institutions because of
perceived or real corruption. Part of what we do in my line of work is to plan and monitor governance, risk
and compliance. This is why I took an interest in knowing more about the week long School which offers
intensive anti-corruption training for future leaders.
It is a great opportunity for me to be accepted into this world renowned Summer School for future leaders. Since 2010, Transparency School has welcomed more than 900 youth leaders from around 110 countries worldwide. I believe the School will give me practical ways of becoming more transparent and accountable, something that will benefit me, my work in government and my community going forward. This is an opportunity to be part of a larger network of young people around the world who are champions of anti-corruption.
I would like to appeal for your help to be able to attend this state of the art School of anti-corruption and accountability training for future leaders. This is an opportunity I would not like to miss.
I would appreciate every little contribution towards the realization of this opportunity.
