I am Richard Neil Raagas, a senior BA Speech Communication student from the University of the Philippines Diliman. UP taught me to strive for Honor and Excellence in all aspects in life to serve the Filipino people. Because of these values UP inculcated in me, I was accepted as a delegate to represent the Philippines in the 9th International Young Leaders Assembly- “Moral and Innovative Leadership: Vision, Service, and Entrepreneurship”. The 9th IYLA will be held in Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York City from August 8-17th, 2016.

International Young Leaders Assembly is a premier partnership-driven leadership development program that empowers promising young leaders to positively impact communities, nations and the world. Emphasizing the importance of vision, service and entrepreneurship as the foundation of moral and innovative leadership, the IYLA hosts student leaders and young professionals for interactive programs with globally significant leaders and institutions. Delegates acquire firsthand experience in leadership, join a lasting global leadership network and build a platform to tackle current critical issues.

In collaboration with distinguished private and public-sector partners throughout the world, the initiating co-conveners Global Peace Foundation and Global Young Leaders Academy anchor the global programs in Washington D.C.

While on my path of leadership development, I have worked on the development of my community and my school. As a matter of fact, I am a member of Gerry Roxas Leadership Awardee Student Society which aims to continue the burning passion for Integrity, Service, and Excellence of the late Philippine Senator Gerry Roxas. Also, I have served the student government in my highschool--Immaculate Heart of Mary College, Quezon City--for five years as the P.R.O, Secretary, Vice-Chairperson, and Chairperson. Moreover, I am a member of United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Club, University of the Philippines Chapter. Through these organizations, I have had the privilege to work with Philippines' brightest students. Whether I am in the rural or urban area, serving the young or old, or immersing with the members of the different sectors in our society, I see how I am building a bridge for the betterment of all humanities.

Thank you in advance! This is an opportunity for ME to represent YOU among these global leaders! Moreover, I assure you that I will share to my country the learning experiences that I will possess from IYLA. I am actually planning to create a sustainable event on the early months of 2018 that will serve as an avenue for me to share my knowledge that I have got from IYLA, and gradually create a bridge for the betterment of all Filipinos. Moreover, I will use my voice to influence the youth to be the change this world needs through volunteering in seminars and talks inside and outside my university.

Your monetary contribution is highly appreciated. Any gift amount is essential to the cause. Your prayers are very much welcomed too! If you cannot donate funds, please consider sharing this campaign to your friends, family members, and social networks. The $3,000 covers the tuition fee.

I hope you have an amazing day ahead, and I look forward to being in contact with you very soon!

Your brother in leadership, Neil!
