ENGLISH

We adopted "Negrito" in the year of 2005, in that time we visited a veterinary and saw a box full of newborn kittens of all kinds of colors, a pair of cats caught our attention, the black one had swollen eyes and the striped one who appeared to be his brother was licking him and didn't leave his side, we decided to take both home; we called them "Negrito" and "Tigre". We assumed they were brothers and didn't hesitate on taking both home. Currently, Negrito is around 12 years old, and a big part of those years he has lived a full life, until the past 2 years when suddenly he started to sneeze and blood came out of his nose. We took him immediately to a veterinary hospital in which they took a biopsy sample, the doctors determined that he had leukemia, his defenses were low and because of that Negrito was susceptible to a lot of diseases caused by bacteria and fungi present in our enviornment, a fungus called cryptococcus got into his organism and because of that he contracted a disease called cryptococcosis, a disease that generates tumors.

Knowing the disease that Negrito had, we looked for a solution for his situation, at that time his nose wasn't as damaged as it is right now, 5 different doctors and a cat "expert" checked him and told us that the disease could not be curable, however we could control it by giving him a medicine called Itraconazole. we gave it to him daily for a year and it controlled the tumor growth positively, but in a period of 2 weeks the growth went off and his nose started to grow drastically. We took him to the hospital for another medical check and the doctors suggested a surgical procedure in order to prevent breathing problems, fortunately the tumor does not affect his nostrils. For months, the doctors checked Negrito without solving the problem, therefore we decided to try other veterinaries and hospitals to help Negrito, we ended up in a different veterinary hospital and they told us that again we should realize a lot of medical exams in order to know if Negrito was candidate for a surgical procedure.

That's what has happened in the last year and Negrito is still full of life, he plays, eats a lot, teases his brothers and gives us a lot of love. We have faith in the possibility of a surgical procedure to remove his tumor. we want to control the disease and give him a better quality of life. Any support, no matter how big or small helps us a lot, we love Negrito and we want to give him the best quality of life for the rest of his days.

Thank you for reading this, thanks!

If the estimated amount of money surpasses our goal we will donate the surplus to an animal shelter
