Woza Moya is a social enterprise thatwas established in 2002 whose primary objective is the reduction of poverty through craft. Woza Moya is the economic empowerment project of the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust which is a holistic HIV/AIDS project which was started in 1991. Since its inception, the Centre has attempted to uplift the lives of those both infected and affected by HIV/AIDS through practical and sustainable care. As new challenges and opportunities have presented themselves, the Centre has adapted its approach to addressing both the disease and the effects of it on the community. One of the projects is the economic empowerment project which assists those in desperate need to acquire a craft skill and earn an income through the sale of their craft. This puts income back into vulnerable communities at the heart of the pandemic.

  • Thank you for the amazing work Woza Moya already does and I hope this building project will lead to an increase in the impact on the lives of the crafters...

  • Thank you everyone for your support. This project means a lot to me personally, but means the world to the beadworksers and crafters who will benefit from this Building and are able to put food on the table because of Woza Moya and our incredible community support. The power of this project is that together nothing is impossible. When I cannot sleep at night wondering how we will get to the seemingly impossible goal, I check the account and see more people have added money and that brings us hope and i get out of bed ready to act and do what needs to be done . I thank Lungi for setting up the account and bless her little cotton socks every day for creating this platform and creating a snowball... and bringing our dream into reality.
