Ban Nayong School is a village school in Si That, North East Thailand. ( about 75 kms from Udon Thani) The school has 180 students aged 3 - 15 years, and 13 teachers.
The school is a happy thriving school with dedicated teachers and hard working children. The local area is a rural farming community. The vast majority of children at the school are from farming families.
The school is in urgent need of help and has very little hope of improving the facilities for the children without our help.
I asked the school what its urgent needs were.
There were very many needs, but the main urgent needs were fans for classrooms, books, an air con unit, footballs, A4 Paper, a printer and dinner trays. (They only have enough dinner trays for 45 children and 4 children have to share one dinner tray every day)
Recently I helped organise a football tournament in Udon Thani. It was sponsored by Moneygram who were very generous in donating towards helping the school. This has purchased some of the items needed, but further items are urgently needed.
I am hoping to raise 700 pounds to buy books, and enough dinner trays for each student to have their own, a printer, ( the school has no printer and cannot supply worksheets, reports, newsletters etc) A4 paper and if funds allow more fans for classrooms.
The school wish to show their appreciation for our help and have invited us to a special show at the school in our honour. All donors are invited to this. The date has yet to be set but it is hoped we can do this when we deliver the items we are raising funds for.
I hope you will be happy to donate to this cause. I personally have never tried to raise funds in this way but I genuinely feel our help will make a difference, and be very much appreciated by the school and the local community.
This school is in urgent need of help, and I am hopeful that my friends, and the wider community will help if they can.
