Help needed for my friend’s father liver transplant :(

I write this with deep sorrow reaching out for help from everyone. My father(Mr. Asimananda Bose) has been diagnosed with Chronic Liver Disease, which has arisen from NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease). His liver has reached a state of extensive cirrhosis and is entirely damaged.

On September 6th, he contracted severe jaundice. His health kept getting worse, so on the 10th he went to the SCB Medical College at Cuttack for check-up. Ultrasound revealed slight damage in the liver which typically occurs in Jaundice patients. No hepatitis virus was found, so regular liver treatment medicine was prescribed.

Over the next few days, his condition worsened over time and on 23rd Sept he fainted in our washroom. He had been hesitating to go to a private clinic/hospital as our family is in dire financial conditions, waiting to get an appointment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar for low cost government treatment. Upon this incident we took him to AIIMS Bbsr emergency but they were unable to admit him in IPD as the gastroenterology department was closed on that day. Following this, we moved him immediately to the Emergency in Sum Hospital Bhubaneswar, where he was admitted to Casualty and then to the Gastro IPD.

Endoscopy revealed that his liver had been extensively damaged (report attached) and since he was not an alcoholic, the doctors diagnosed this as NAFLD. His condition is worsening by the day with numerous complications arising across his body. This has led him to be admitted to the ICU on the 5th of October where anti-coma precautions are being taken. The prognosis stated that the only way of survival is to go for a liver transplant, so the hospital is working towards stabilizing his condition sufficiently to move him to Delhi for the transplant process.

My dear father has been an upright and kind human being who has never hesitated to support anyone in distress to the best of his capacity. He has been selfless, aiding others in need even at the cost of his own well-being. He has taught me the meaning of altruism and given me a sense of righteousness. It pains me immensely to watch him progress hastily towards the end, helpless at not being able to save him. So, as a final act of desperation we reach out to everyone with a plea for support. We need your financial assistance to give him the only chance at recovery.

We have spent over 4.2 lakhs in this period and have exhausted all our savings. Having consulted multiple liver transplant organisations and clinics across India, we have been informed that a cost of 25-27 lakhs is the bare minimum to cover all the necessary expenses. I request everyone reading this to contribute to their capacity, big or small.
