Wojtek and Max met earlier this year and soon realised that they share a love for filmmaking. After becoming good friends they discovered that they not only have similar goals, but also work well creatively. Both experienced in the field, Wojtek and Max have made numerous films respectively and after having found a new home in Athens, were inspired to start a new project together. This is that project, and they need your help!
“Begging for Change”, A short film by Max & Wojtek
In the heart of Athens a struggling beggar stumbles upon a broken guitar. Inspired by a busker and in an attempt to make money, he tries to play it. Talentless but hungry for self betterment, he keeps a close watch on the busker, hoping to learn from him.
The beggar is soon faced with a moral dilemma when he finds himself in the middle of a crime involving the busker and two thugs wanting to steal the buskers wallet. Desperate and consumed by a dream, the beggar becomes a thief after stealing the buskers guitar.
Now fully consumed by his ambition, he continues his artistic pursuit but the harsh reality remains, a new guitar is not enough to become the man of his dreams.
Max Bradford (Personal Website)
Growing up in a small village on the Greek island of Corfu, my first introduction to filmmaking was when I discovered YouTube at 12 years old and, in an attempt to entertain myself, would make short skits.
Fast forward 12 years and I am still at it. After having graduated with a degree in Film and Television production (2:1, BA Hons) from Northumbria University, I moved to Thessaloniki where I worked as head editor and camera operator for a local news channel.
Since then I have invested in my own equipment and have become an avid photographer. I now live and work in Athens and am eager to start making films again.
