Campaign Story
About Me and My Team
I am a passionate Badminton player and a coach trying to empower the young men and women of our island nation Sri Lanka with this great sport. Recently I started coaching the newly formed badminton team at Girl’s Collage Dankotuwa (Sri Lanka) which consists of about 60 players. The school is unable to afford a second coach and I am unable to give these talented ladies the attention they deserve.
As a solution, I have decided to raise funds to obtain a shuttle feeder similar to that shown in the link below.
With Baddy, I am able to programme training exercises and keep the training sessions going smoothly while focusing on individual players who need specific direction.
My Funding Goal
Unfortunately, I alone nor the school, nor the parents can afford the cost of this device therefore we would like to humbly ask for your help to raise enough money to both buy this piece of kit and have it shipped to Sri Lanka. Baddy costs €485 and the delivery cost for Baddy to be delivered to Sri Lanka is an additional €90 which forms my fund target of €575 (approx. $630).
My Ultimate Goal
I believe in my team. With the right support, I am confident they can reach great heights and like me, find meaning, freedom and empowerment despite the difficulties of their day to day life, through sports.
Thank you for visiting my page and thank you for your support.

This reminds me of the passion I had for badminton, I was well occupied with this sport during my childhood. Wish you all the best, and Tharindu is a friend of mine who has a passion for everything!

Thank you for organising this fund raiser. I am glad that I could contribute to help these kids.
Many thanks for the support
Update posted by Tharindu Fernando at 06:48 pmThe campaign reached $200 and I am so grateful! Well-wishers have not only donated but shared our story far and wide. Mean while in Dankotuwa, practices go on as usual despite the circumstances. These girls work hard!Look at them training outside when the bus driver didn't show up..
