Campaign Story
This is Pasta, a cat we found in the parking lot of a place selling pasta makers. She was very sweet when we met; she wound herself around our legs and purred endlessly when we gave her pets. It was hard to leave her there, looking frail, as though she had not eaten in a while. We asked the security guard if anyone owned her, and as expected, he said no: she's a stray whom they try to feed, but only when they have leftovers to spare. It was tough because we didn't exactly have room for another cat, but we decided to take her anyway, in the hopes of finding someone who would adopt her. A few days later though, we found out she was pregnant (and she's only ~5 months old!). It would be hard to find anyone who would adopt her now... especially here in the Philippines, where stray cats are abundant, and not exactly desired. :( I will be keeping her until I can, but she will be our fourth cat, and I don't exactly have the funds to pay for all her needs, especially since she is underweight and pregnant! It would help me tremendously if you could find it in your hearts to donate any amount to this fundraiser.
Here's a breakdown of the expenses (in Philippine Pesos, with totals both in PHP and USD) she and her kittens will incur:
Pasta's Needs:
Vet Needs:
Vaccinations (Parvovirus + Distemper + Leptospirosis + Hepatitis + Parainfluenza + Coronavirus) - P2,000
Anti-Rabies - P300
Deworming - P200
Spay (after she gives birth) - P5,000
Budget for Medicines - P1,000
Others:
Cat Food (good for around a year) - P2,500
Total Pasta’s Needs: P11,000 (~US$224)
Kittens' Needs (Assuming 3 Kittens in Litter):
Vet Needs (w/o Spaying/Neutering): P7,500
Vet Needs (w/ Spaying/Neutering: P22,500
Total Kittens' Needs (w/o Spay/Neuter): P18,500 (~US$376)
Total Kittens' Needs (w/ Spay/Neuter): P33,500 (~US$684)
Grand Total (w/ Kitten Spay/Neuter): P44,500 (~US$908)
I'm aiming to raise enough to also have her kittens spayed/neutered, because it's easier to have kittens adopted when they have been fixed.
If you live in Manila and would rather adopt Pasta or any of her kittens (they should be ready to adopt by February!), that would be even better! Please get in touch with me so we can coordinate. :)
I really, really don't want to have to surrender her or her kittens to a shelter as all shelters in Manila are high-kill, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
