Hi! My name is Mark Debb of Abuyog Leyte Philippines. I have a niece who is a 9 year old elementary student and was diagnosed with Lymphoma.
Lymphoma is cancer that begins in infection-fighting cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes. These cells are in the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, bone marrow, and other parts of the body. When you have lymphoma, lymphocytes change and grow out of control.
As of now we don't know yet which type and what stage her Cancer is. She was hospitalized at the Philippines Childrens Hospital for almost 3 weeks last November and prior to that she was already out of school for almost a month due to fever, sleepless nights due to severe coughing, and itches all over her body. She got a lot of swollen lymph nodes around her neck, which makes her neck larger. Her grades had gone down because she has been in and out of school. Her skin is now full of scratches and scars which I only hope she's not being bullied because of it. To confirm her type of cancer and stage she needs to undergo Biopsy. Plain and easy however Doctors were suggesting to do the biopsy in her chest and took the lump from her lungs the problem is, the lump is near her airway that might cause her to have difficulty in breathing and that could put her in a very risky situation and be admitted in the ICU. As of now her parents do not have the courage to have their daughter undergo the operation due to the possibility of a high risk complications.
Her Mother is just a housewife and her Father works as a construction worker with a minimum wage that is not even enough to support the families' needs. They live in one of the slums in Taguig Manila Philippines. Her Father's salary is not enough for her medications.
She is my first and only niece and she is too young to experience this difficulty in life. I have been supporting and paying for some of her medications at the same time I am providing for our family as the breadwinner. I do not want to lose her let alone to cancer. she is too young and has a great future ahead of her. I am asking for help financially to pay for her operation and medication, but most of all we need PRAYERS for her healing and for our family to be strong in the midst of this trial.
Help her beat cancer and have a longer life. Help her get another chance to live.
