Campaign Story
We thought our Mom was just suffering from anxiety or depression due to the covid19 pandemic. She started complaining about sore throat, cold, and something wrong about her sinus early this year. Then came August, she struggled to talk even just saying one word, keeps on sleeping, and her body temp is not going down. Due to covid protocol, we struggled to find a hospital and ended up in TMC. My Mom was diagnosed with Viral encephalitis caused by herpes simplex virus. We were devastated but we know we need to do everything we can for her healing. We've applied for loans and asked help from relatives in order to settle our bills until she's discharged from the hospital and healed. We were happy and been planning for her therapy but something came up again..
She got admitted back in TMC and undergone the same test - lumbar tap test. She will also undergo another test for anti-NMDA as the doctors suspect a complication. Due to financial struggles we have asked the doctors to give us another option to transfer my Mom to a different hospital. We're in the process of transferring her to PGH where we will start her treatment that will take approximately 21 days. Hope you can lend us a helping hand to either share this fund raising or any amount that you can let go and donate for my Mom's healing. Our bill is currently at 160,000PHP since end of September and her medicine and test will be approximately 500,000PHP. This amount is still without the professional fees and new charges once we move to PGH.
My Mom cannot remember our names, but she knows we're her children. She kisses us and tell us "I love you".

She still has swelling in a small portion of her brain but what is concerning is that it also left a scar. The Doctor says she may or may not be recovering 100% but we. . . . .

My Mom has been responding well to medications and thank God that so far, all tests are negative although inconclusive. From what we know right now, the white blood cells in her brain is still high which indicates that there's still an. . . . .

Update posted by Michael Hubbard at 02:03 pmGood news! My Mom is negative in Anti NMDA test and we will not be taking the expensive IVig anymore. Bone marrow test and cell cytology came clean as well. It seems the bacteria is out of my Mom's brain and is showing up as cold sore in her mouth
