My mother is a very hardworking and active person. For 49 years, I have never seen her sick nor did I have to worry about her getting sick.
It all happened too quickly and drastically. First, she was breathing too heavily and in December of 2015, we had to remove about 4 liters of unwanted water and waste in her lungs. The case is called pleural effusion. We thought that was just it. We were all wrong. Doctors soon found out that the reason why there was pleaural effusion was a complication of her swollen reproductive system and failing kidneys.
That same month and year, my Mom underwent the procedure of inserting stents on her kidneys to allow her to dispel body toxins. For almost two years since then, we did our best to maintain her medications and necessary check ups for her to remain healthy as possible.
We never had problems for the whole year of 2016 until February of this year. It was March when I noticed that she was getting thinner and too sensitive to either the heat and cold. From since then, she was on-off the medical ward of the Cagayan Valley Medical Center.
Her last confinement was the worst. She went unconscious for 2 days at the hospital and then we found out that her kidneys are no longer functional and she could only regain consciousness if she underwent dialysis. She stayed at the hospital for 15 days. She is now discharged but remains bedridden and under extensive care and monitoring at home.
My mother has begun undergoing dialysis. She has Philhealth coverage and we are waiting for her medical abstract to process her application for dialysis assistance at the PCSO but I am creating this funding page to sustain her at least one year more through dialysis if our application for financial assistance is denied.
Please help my Mom survive and live a little longer. I beg you. Please... My family is now running out of resources; my pocket emptied.... We did our best to sustain her. We want to gamble for more chances of her healing and survival.
God bless us all!
