Help My Mom Fight Cancer

Update posted by Princess Angeline Lacatango On Apr 21, 2019

My mom was rushed to the ER at 8 PM when she had trouble breathing. It showed that her O2 levels are very low and needed medical attention. We almost lost her due to an emergency situation and with the weight of all the maintenance medicine, oxygen tanks, daily needs and readying for chemotherapy sessions---we can barely keep up. :( :( :(

Hi. Thank you for keeping my mom in your thoughts. She passed away just this April 24 at 3:33 AM due to acute respiratory failure.

Hi how is your mom now? I’ve been following on this story for weeks and I’m anxious to know how she is.

We were referred to Las Pinas General Hospital by the start of April for the chance of being provided financial assistance for chemotherapy sessions. The oncologist in LPGH offered Paclitaxel as treatment, and requires us P112,000 for the cycles. This is a lot for us who now live on a day to day basis with my father's paycheck and my mom's daily maintenance (medicine and oxygen tank supplies). We requested for assistance and up until now (April 21) there is no news if we are provided with FREE chemotherapy sessions.

Today, my mom got out of the hospital. She was treated for community acquired pneumonia and was given diuretics for malignant pleural effusion. We've used some of the accumulated funds to buy medicine, since she needs a lot. I really do hope more will donate, even just a small amount, since she really needs to undergo chemotherapy soon.

Thanks so much for all those that donated!

We went to the hospital at 5 AM since mom had trouble breathing. The doctor says the fluid in her lungs are back, and she needs to be confined for further treatment due to community acquired pneumonia.
