In March of this year, my mother, Arlene Yparraguirre (49 years old) was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. This is a major challenge for our family in addition to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19. Her operation and chemotherapy were delayed and postponed during the lockdown. It's really an agony for us to see her suffer from cancer and we cannot do anything about it. She complains about her dimpling breast. All hospitals here in the Philippines prioritized COVID-19 patients. This June, the community lockdown has been lifted but going outside is still prohibited. However, the doctor gave her permission to undergo an operation. Her right breast is removed. Our battle is not yet done because she will undergo 8 sessions of chemotherapy. She will also take supplements and medication to strengthen her immune system and we don't have enough money for that. My father is working abroad and not here with us. And I'm a second-year college student while my brother is only in elementary. Please help us. We need our mother. My brother is still young to lose our mom. And I need my mom to see me graduate in college. Thank you!
