I am trying to raise money to get my husband out of an assisted living facility which is detrimental to his health and my well being . We moved to this furnished place and left our furniture and kitchenware behind and did not know that it would a place where we can not tolerate. We don't have another way to get funds. I have two letters from doctors advising recommended food for my husband and that is ignored. I throw out my meals and I am not a picky eater. It is greasy and salty and he has gained 50 lbs in 6 months and developed angina and had to get a stent in February. He had a brain tumor removed so has short term memory loss and cannot live alone. I took very good care of him and never anticipated this. He also now has heart disease and diabetes which is very difficult to control with the food here. I wanted him to be around friends and have activities. That did not turn out to be the case. The care or interest in the residents here is minimal. I get so angry every day when we get meals and I talk to many others that throw out there food. I complained to an ombudsman and we were given options for a couple of days. After that, I think in retribution they raised our rent $450.00 and I may have to get rid of our car. I have spoken to other independent residents and they didn't get a rent increase. I wish I had a family member to help but we don't. I will pay any money I receive forward as soon as we get back on our feet. I thank you for reading this. Margaret
