Open Letter to the Nation. I've never believed in society massively. I have always been very cynical and underwhelmed at the world when things really got tough. Then I grew up. As i grow older, I am starting to realise the potential in myself, my family and most importantly my friends. I am just a modest man with a modest life. I work to live and I enjoy my interests, family and friendships. I live for the year that I am in, the month and most importantly today. I'm not a life planner, by this time next year i'll have a child, but that's just happening, I didn't plan for that! Financially, I'm doing what I think is the average for people who are 24. Earning peanuts whilst staying well and active. Life isn't too serious yet. For one of my friends, life has just come round to smash him in the face.I was extremely mortified to learn that his Mother, taken ill very unexpectedly, has died. Two weeks from finding tumours she unfortunatley passed away. My biggest sympathy goes to my friend right now.My friend Pete, isn't your normal person, he is very special. He has a great nature, he is enthusiastic about life and totally adored his mother. He has a couple of sisters and that is all.The sad news caught him and his sisters very unexpectantly. He is of the same age as me and still finding his way in life. My Mother is absolutely adorable, funny, caring, tender, ruthless, hard working, supportive and constantly here. If i lost my mother tomorrow I'd be absolutely heart broken (and just reflecting about her brings a tear to my eye, the realisation that one day she will not be here)  For my friend Peter, he will never get to see his mother again and for that i'm truely devestated for him.To add salt to injury - as if this time wasn't hard enough, he cannot afford her funeral.  He will be trying to sell off modest belongings to try and raise the minimum of 3.5k to give her a basic send off. This terrifies me, because just like me, he hasn't looked in to the future, he hasn't planned for his mother's death, emotionally or financially. At 24, he has no where to turn, each door is closed and this is adding to his horrific ordeal. If you can be kind enough to donate £2.50 (what's that, a sandwich for lunch? a bus fare? half a pint? even if it's just because the dog is cute in the picture) please try and help (My friends name has been protected for anonymity reasons - this story is absolutely real and I am willing to discuss any thing - please get in touch) Please help me, take the weight off my friend's shoulder. God Bless, MAN
