Help my friend, a talented musician

Hey everyone, I've started this fund raiser to raise money to help my friend with buying recording equipment. Please take a moment to read this and help out in any way you can. A little goes a long way. I strongly believe that we can change his life! Even £1 would do :)

Background

One of my good friends back home in Sri Lanka is a really talented musician. He is a self-taught guitarist and has been blessed with an amazing voice. He never had an easy childhood so he turned to music to express himself, and in all honesty I think he is doing a really good job at it. Personally, his struggle in life has inspired me a lot and has helped me see life differently. Now in turn, I'd like to do something for him. Last year he won the award for 'Best original song' at a local competition (TNL OnStage 2015).

The Plan

The plan is for him to record covers of popular songs and upload them to YouTube. By this he will be able to gain popularity within the local (ad hopefully global) community. This opens up two opportunities for him;

1. Builds a fan base for when he releases his original music (higher album sales)
2. Possibly generate revenue from YouTube

If all of this goes according to play, in a few years time he would have reached a point where he can have his own concerts and also feature other local artists (thereby helping them).

I think he is in a unique position to achieve all of this since no one in Sri Lanka is in the cover songs scene.

Use of Funds

All funds raised will go towards purchasing the following equipment.

All extra funds would go towards purchasing additional equipment i.e.

• Video and lighting equipment - green screen, lighting, etc.

Final Words

Your donation could help my friend and potentially change his life! Even the smallest of donations could make the biggest difference. To put things into perspective £1 ($1.44) approx. equal to LKR 209.
