#BoyetBounceBack: Daddy’s Post-Aneurysm Recovery Fund

Last February, my dad, Cresencio "Boyet" Custodio suffered two ruptured aneurysms and had to undergo brain surgery at the Philippine General Hospital. A third, unruptured aneurysm was also found and clamped.

Ma, Ate Ching, Shawee, Benok, Ace, and I will always be beyond thankful that Daddy survived the ordeal. We know we’re luckier than most! However, half a year after his operations, he’s still a long way off from recovering his ability to move, speak, and eat independently.

Currently, he receives physical therapy [x] days a week. He also requires round-the-clock monitoring and bedside assistance, so a professional caregiver is there to help us out 12 hours a day.

Our family currently spends around P5,000 a week on physical therapy and professional fees. Counting other expenses—such as doctor's fees, medications, food (nasogastric tube/NGT formula), and transportation for follow-up hospital check-ups—we’re looking at a total of about [x] a week.

We do what we can to pitch in financially, but with Ma due to retire in a few years, the loss of another family member’s income will be deeply felt.
