Help my Family in Beirut Lebanon

Hi, I am Hamawi (nickname Justin) from US. I am living in Gemmayze (Bierut Lebanon) with my family.

At about 6:30 pm local time on Tuesday, August 04, 2020, a giant explosion at a warehouse in the port sent a shock wave through downtown Beirut. It was caused by the ignition of more than 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored, insecurely, at a warehouse. The massive explosion and a serious shock wave shoot the Lebanese capital city of Beirut, killing more than 150 people and injuring more than 7000 others and many more missing.

The explosion was so enormous the shock wave were heard and felt as far away as Cyprus (more than 200 km away). The city is in ruins. I see injured people all over the streets, glass over the place, cars are damaged, homes, hospitals, and buildings have been destroyed, it is like an apocalypse. The scene reminded me of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The hospitals in the city are overflowing with patients. The explosion came at a time of economic and social crisis in Lebanon as the country wrestles with the Covid-19 pandemic. It creates even more difficult for people who may need to isolate or get urgent medical care. It is very, very frightening what is happening right now and people are freaking out here.

We lost our home, our windows, doors, beds and other household things have been destroyed. Now more than even we need your support. I am in tears to see my family in this condition. I have never done fundraising and feel shy. It may seem selfish to ask but my heart is breaking to see my family in this penniless situation. We have had lots of tears.
