Help my family after incarceration

Hi and welcome,

My name is Soju, and I am in need of help. My parents have passed away and I am estranged from my older sister. A few weeks ago I found out my sister had gotten into some legal trouble and without going into the details was to receive a 3-5 year sentence.

Said sister has 2 children, a 14 year old and a 16 year old. They were going to be put into foster care if no family stepped up. I am the only family and though I haven’t seen them in 8 years, i am taking them in. Unfortunately my sister did not take care of her children, having them living in borderline squalor. Little to no clothing, both wear glasses and haven’t had a new pair in 4 years. They don’t have any school clothing or supplies ready either... I am the baby of the family , a “change baby” 15 years younger than my sister. I have no children of my own, living in a 1 bedroom apartment, going to nursing school and suddenly I'm a mother of 2 teens. Saying I need help is an understatement.

I have to move out of my apartment and find a 3 bedroom as they only allow max 2 people in a 1 bedroom. I need to get them school clothing and supplies as well as glasses and whatever else my sister never did for them. I will have to get 2 new beds for them too. I have an appointment to see if I qualify for any government assistance, I need help, please. If anyone has anything to spare and can help, I’d be so so thankful.
