Please help me, help my daughter get the break she needs to realise her dreams.

It’s not easy to ask for help but it’s even harder as a single mother not to be able to give your children the educational advantage they need to reach their full potential. Although Dominique has tried to grab every opportunity to reach her career aspirations it hasn’t been easy for her and even after numerous knocks in life she’s managed to study while working full time to get her BCom degree. (I’m so proud of my girl!)

She’s worked hard and given up a lot to get to this point and survived the nerve wrecking interview process (with a few crocodile tears in between) to secure a spot at one of France’s Grande Ecole (top schools)

It is heartbreaking that finances is proving more problematic than we thought (the rand/euro exchange has not made it any easier).

After various inquiries into scholarships, bursaries and bank financing she has been unable to get the necessary funding required to undertake the full-time program, (it has been very frustrating but I think she’s still trusting it will all work out - just like her to never give up).

Dominique has been trying to get bursaries from companies and prepared to work it back after she graduates so perhaps there is a company out there willing to help in this regard?

She wants to be a consultant for international business development in multicultural markets. Although her main passion and focus is the tourism industry and the benefits of international relations for South Africa, I think she’d be comfortable in most environments.

DETAILS:

Program: 2 year MSc in International Business (Honours and Masters combined full-time) at INSEEC Paris. Classes start beginning October (F

Funding requirement: Visa application, Tuition, Return flights, Accommodation, Transport, Food, W&L, Health insurance etc. This funding is only for her first year

Why INSEEC and not a program in South Africa: Dominique has done an exhaustive amount of research and this program is the only one that covers international business with a specialisation in multicultural markets (cultural awareness in the business environment is her key interest).

What happens to the money if she doesn’t meet her target? After her exams in June, Dominique will continue to canvas for support, we are confident that she will eventually meet her target (she has realized that she would most likely need to postpone for a year or so). Should she be unable to meet the target she will consider other programs or otherwise donate the money to another worthy educational cause/s - she will constantly keep everyone up-to-date in the update section. The money raised will only go to educational requirements and that’s all!

ANY help would be appreciated!! ((whether it’s flight tickets, money donations, a place to stay while she’s there (accommodation is expensive there), information regarding a company offering a bursary in her field of study etc))

EVERY LITTLE BIT ADS UP AND HELPS TOWARDS THIS ENDEAVOR

Thank you for your support :) God bless Carole xx

Not giving up...

Update posted by dominiquee at 12:54 pm

Today I had to advise the university that I was unable to come up with the 2000 Euros required for registration - each word typed, shattered my heart and my hope just that little bit more.  It's difficult when you've worked so hard to get to a point, just to. . . . .

Wow, we've had 200 views! Whoop whoop! I'm humbled and grateful to everyone who took the time to read my mom's plea and especially those that have shared the link with others - thank you SO much. Perhaps this approach seems unconventional to some, but to what end would you. . . . .
