My dad, Chito, has been in a coma for some time now. He has suffered from a ruptured digestive tract and subsequently a cardiac arrest which resulted to his current unconscious state. His body would occasionally go through several seizures and spasms that leave us dreading whether or not he can still make it. And every single day we pray and hope he does pull through.
It breaks me inside to see my dad, a man I look up to, in such a critical condition. On a normal day, one would describe my dad as a stubborn and whimsical man. He cannot be moved from his spot when an action movie is on TV (especially if it's John Wick). The guys’s a real sappy veterinarian who likes to adopt as many dogs as he legally can. To me and my family, he’s simply the person we love to come home to after the day’s over. He’s always sitting there by the porch, looking out for us for no matter what. We are trying our very best to do the same for him now that he needs us the most.
I started this fundraiser mainly because the medication money my mom saved up was directly robbed from her. She's feeling helpless and traumatised. I didn't want to burden strangers online with my family problems but any kind of support for my dad's recovery would be truly, greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Some other details: He’s currently admitted at the surgical ICU of St. Paul’s Hospital in Iloilo City. My dad will turn 78 this November 2018. He mostly works as a part-time consultant after retiring from the Department of Agriculture.
