I'd like to share my dad's story with you all in the hopes that we can get him back on his feet. My father retired two years ago and put his pension and life savings into his business. He started farming with chickens in 2016 and has been struggling to get his business off the ground ever since. He works tirelessly every single day for seven days a week and does all the physical work together with my step mom, as well as doing deliveries and selling chickens next to the road on weekends. In March 2018 my father had a severe hemorrhagic stroke (intracerebral haemorrhage) which caused bleeding on his brain. The doctors said it was a miracle that he survived. He spent almost two months in hospital before being discharged. Due to the physical constraints caused by the stroke (he had to learn to walk again and has lost feeling on one side of his body) he has had an exceptional amount of pressure to keep his business running. On 17/11/2018, just 6 months after being discharged from the hospital he was robbed and shot in the stomach and foot whilst selling chickens next to the road. The bullet entered through his abdomen and exited through his back. Miraculously it seems as though the bullet did not hit any vital organs. He nearly lost his life for a mere R500.00 and a cellphone. This is not the first time he has been robbed. This year alone his house was broken into 3 times and he was robbed of all his possessions. He no longer has insurance due to the insurer cancelling the policy as he is classified as a "high risk". He has therefore been unable to replace any of his belongings that were stolen. He also does not have medical aid and is currently being treated in a public hospital. My heart breaks for him and if I could - I would financially support him in a heartbeat. Because of the dangers of selling chickens next to the road, he can no longer continue with his business unless he finds commercial clients that order chicken in large quantities. Through all of this my dad has always had a smile on his face. He has not once asked for help and never complains about his situation. I would love more than anything to take the financial pressure off his shoulders for a few months while he recovers and while he looks for a job with a stable income. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

I would also like for him to find a job in the cullinan area if anyone has any job opportunities or if there are any butcheries, restaurants or supermarkets who would be able to assist my dad with regular chicken orders (he is fully licensed and his chickens are not injected with water).

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
