HELP MY DAD FIGHT LUNG CANCER

Dear All,

I am here raising fund for the best person I know in my life, my greatest Dad.

On the 8^th August 2019, my Dad was coughing badly and went to see the doctor. Xray was taken and found a shadow in his lung. He was referred to the hospital for further and detailed checkup.

On the 27^th August 2019, my Dad was being diagnosed with Advanced (Stage 4) Lung Cancer and it has been mentally, emotionally and physical draining for my whole family to accept this news.

My Dad who is always very energetic, cheerful and positive minded, had suddenly became weak and depressed. We know he must be very worried because he still has many things that need to done, settled and achieved.

He used to stay out from morning to evening but ever since he has been diagnosed with this disease, he is almost resting on bed most of the time. Whenever I passed by his room seeing how discomfort he is, I felt very sad. He lost weight and his hair turned grey... He can’t speak now because the hospital had to collect samples through his throat.

My Dad has his own business and is the only sole bread winner of the family. However, things turned bad and his business was failing and got into huge debts. Even though we had to suffer, my dad had always been my idol. In order to keep the things going and to survive in a high cost living country, I had to take over and carry on his business. Things did change and picked up for a while but it did not last long either. We got into deeper debts and I am facing bankruptcy.

Due to the urgent nature of his situation and the sudden breakout of the diagnosed news, we are totally unprepared. We had no choice and hope to raise funds for his upcoming high cost medical treatments. According to the hospital and some other researches, the medical fees may cost up to $30,000 per month. On the worst-case scenario with our embarrassed faces, we will also need this funding for his funeral. We are now checking with relatives, friends and even over the internet to see if there is any other treatment that may help his sickness.

And for those who have come across this illness, it will be devastating and suffering to go through the treatment, chemotherapy, radiotherapy. We hope my Dad can get through these.

Anyone who knows my Dad will know how kind and soft hearted he is. He will NEVER ever give a second thought when he is being asked for help. We hope this time round when he is in need for help, he will not be turned away too.

Although we know it will be very tough, we still wish to pin a hope to see back the wonderful Dad we used to see. We do not want to give up on him.
