My Dad, Jun, has always been a comedian in the family. He always makes people laugh at any situation he is in. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to provide happiness to everyone after being diagnosed of malignant cancer of the colon. This sad news broke my heart and got me burst into tears.

Despite the odds of being in a poor family, he never showed any struggle when it came to living and getting by on a daily basis. He's a fighter! He currently lives with his parents, brother and sister in the Philippines. However, I don't live with him anymore which makes me sad because I can't be with him during the whole process. I miss him and I wish I could be with him right now.

In December of 2018, I was able to go back to the Philippines to visit my dad which was mainly to spend my time with him and celebrate Christmas. It had marked an almost 10 year period since we have seen each other. When I got to spend my time with him, he seemed in good health. Though, I have noticed that he lost a lot of weight, I thought that it could be because he has been riding the bicycle every day to go to work. I know that he has been going through a lot but he remains strong despite all the challenges in life. We never gave up on helping him and reminding him that a lot of people care for him.

A month ago, we heard from my auntie that my dad has been excreting blood and having constipation. He was checked by the doctor and his CT scan, colonoscopy and biopsy results gave the doctor to conclude that my dad has Adenocarcinoma (Malignant Cancer affecting the colon). The doctor also advised an immediate operation of the rectum and to see what other areas of the colon were affected. This operation will get rid of the large mass detected at the rectal area that causes the severe pain and profuse bleeding that my dad is currently experiencing right now.

My family and I are doing the best we can to seek out help from anyone and everyone. We seek support for his invasive procedures, medical bills and chemotherapy to extend his life. This will help out significantly with our impending costs for my father.

We are doing our best to contribute for the amount needed but are coming up short of the necessary funds. If anyone can extend help and support for my father and be able to assist in paying the bills this will be so very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Jeamel & family
