Campaign Story
Peanut was a domestic short-haired stray whom I first adopted from a McDonalds. Back then he was still a kitten, somewhere around 2 to 3 weeks old. It seemed that someone had intentionally left him there.
Fast forward 3 years later, Peanut has grown into a fine and active adult kitty. Sadly, over the last month, he started having difficulty breathing.
Tests and the prognosis from our local veterinarian confirmed our worst fears. Peanut had fluid accumulation in his chest cavity, causing said symptoms. Blood work came back with bad news as well, indicating that Peanut is definitely FIP positive.
FIP, also known as Feline Infectious Peritonitis is a fatal disease with no confirmed treatment or cure. However, ongoing research results over the last couple of years have shown promising results.
While peanut may be affected by the “wet type” of FIP, constant visits to the vet to periodically remove the liquid from his chest cavity will be able to ease his difficulty of breathing and improve his quality of life while we wait for the treatment to be commercially available.
TL;DR: Help me fund my cat’s FIP treatment while we wait for a cure for the disease is available
