Abraham Maslow said “a musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write. If he is to be ultimately happy. What a man can be he must be. This need is called self-actualization”. These wise words cut me and move me to tears knowing that a revolution is brewing.
Hi, I’m Mandy Mhlongo, Zulu girl and Guitarist and rapper from Durban,South Africa. Inspiring people is my passion. The work I do in tourism is so fulfilling and just the thought that I may have inspired someone to be better gives me deep, silent inner peace. I am blessed to have a tour of Southern Africa coming up in December and I am so excited to spread seeds of inspiration all over the Earth through my music. It has always been hard since my mom passed away but it doesn’t hinder my spirit because I pray and believe that once I send good energy into the universe, it comes back.
How you can help?
There’s a Zulu rule that’s called UBUNTU. It can be elaborated as “umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu” which can be translated ways but mainly it means
A person is a person because of people
I am who I am because of others
It takes a village to raise a child
I humbly ask for your help to become who I need to be.
A small donation of any amount will be highly appreciated.
Support can come in any form, a share or like counts.
What will the money go to?
The tour costs are simple. The venue covers my accommodation and I have to get to the venues myself. My Transportation modes is Bus, Train, Taxi and foot as I go on this crazy adventure. Bus tickets between towns are about $60 each. I have 12 venues to go to. Pressing CD’s A bag for my guitar and microphone stand and food.
I believe in the power of humanity any donation will help a Zulu girl live her dream.
