On 2nd October 2015, my mother suffered a massive stroke that left her right side of the body paralyzed. We were able to rushed her to the hospital immediately, unfortunately, the left side of her brain was severely affected causing swelling and bleeding.
Prior to her accident, my mom lived a healthy lifestyle, eating right, exercising and no vices whatsoever. It came as a surprise with what happened to her as this is her 1st major stroke and she showed no signs of weakness before the attack.
The CT scan results and doctor's diagnosis showed that my mom has: Cerebrovascular Disease Bleed Left Parietal Region Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Hypertension.
My mom's neurologist administered medicines as her
consciousness level rating is already low, this allows the swelling to
subside in her brain and also drained the blood in her brain to relieved
her of the pain that she is experiencing. Since my mom is nearing
comatose and she is not responding well to the medications, doctors said
that there is a 50/50 chance of survival with or without craniotomy or brain surgery, due to her age at 74. However the next best option is for
her to undergo brain surgery.
It was a tough decision that our family has to make due to my mom's age, possible complications, chances of survival and financial constraints. Praise God as He heard our prayers as she was able to survived the craniotomy procedure.
Presently, she is still bedridden and her right side still paralyzed and hardly any movements at all. My mom still unable to talk and can only communicate to us by crying. Fortunately, she no longer requires tube feeding as she is able to swallow soft and liquid food.
Although still a long way from recovery, we are glad that she is still in our midst and God gave us more time to make up for lost times and an opportunity to create wonderful memories together.
The hospitalization and medical bills became a financial burden for the whole family. We hope that together with your help, we can continue to provide good healthcare and sustain her medical needs.
Thanks very much for your concern and taking time to read this. We declare and pray for greater blessings over everyone who prays for our mom and showed support and kind help through giving. Your generosity will surely go a long way.
