We are the family of Mike O'Brien, which includes his wife, Megan, and four kids Laura (28), Molly(16), Collin(15), and Emily(13). About a year ago he was diagnosed with N.A.S.H. cirrhosis of the liver. We were told that he would need a liver transplant. His health deteriorated quickly and soon after was forced to leave his job and go on disability. We are lucky enough for Mike to have medical insurance but, as everyone knows, it does not cover everything. The hospital has estimated that he will need about 10,000 dollars after his transplant to cover just his medications for one year that will not be covered by insurance. That does not included the time his wife will need to take off work, the traveling expenses back and forth from Malabar to Orlando, or his high deductable.
