Meet Michelle, a vibrant individual who brings boundless happiness to the lives of those around her. As a devoted mom, cherished cousin, and cherished friend, she has always been the life of the party, filling the air with laughter and captivating everyone with her dancing prowess. Michelle's mission has always been simple: to ensure that everyone in her presence is brimming with joy.

However, Michelle's life took an unexpected turn when she began experiencing persistent abdominal pain and alarming episodes of bleeding. Concerned for her health, she sought medical attention in February 2022, leading to a crucial pap smear test. The results were sobering: a mass in her cervix, and an incisional biopsy confirmed the presence of malignant cells. Michelle was diagnosed with uterine cervical cancer. The journey ahead would be hard, but the doctors assured her that her condition was curable.

Since then, Michelle has embarked on a challenging road, undergoing her second series of chemotherapy and radiotherapy since last year. These treatments have been crucial in her battle against cancer. However, they come at a significant financial cost. Each chemotherapy session carries a price tag of 101,900 pesos, while her radiotherapy treatments amount to 108,000 pesos each. She still has four remaining chemotherapy sessions and ten radiotherapy sessions on her treatment plan. In addition to these, her regular scans require 20,000 pesos, and due to her anemic condition, she relies on blood transfusions costing 3,600 pesos. She’s currently having her chemotherapy sessions at Quezon City General Hospital while her radiation sessions are done at Philippine Oncology Center in Fairview.

Michelle's determination to conquer her illness is unwavering, and she strives to cover the substantial expenses incurred during her medical journey. Despite reaching out to various non-governmental organizations for assistance, her savings have been entirely depleted. She now leans heavily on her devoted son, Xyril, both for emotional support and to shoulder the ever-mounting hospital bills. In the face of these challenges, Michelle's spirit remains unbroken. Her greatest motivation is the imminent arrival of her first grandchild later this year – a precious milestone she dreams of witnessing.
