Our friend Mhika Gaffud is a 28 year old single mom who works in hospitality industry. She works on a tight shift tirelessly to support herself, her wonderful child and her family.

Last December 2018, she was asked to see an Ortho because both of her foot were swelling while she was on duty. As soon as she saw her Doctor, she discovered she was diagnosed with Hallux Valgus also known as “Bunions”.

In the beginning of 2019 she was scheduled for an operation from a reputable and only hospital who agreed on taking her case as, not all of the hospital here in the Philippines can perform that type of procedure and it was expensive. It was already a burden to her to shoulder all the expenses of the surgery, she managed to pay for the operation with her own money and with the help of friends and her health card from work.

Now we are seeking for help as she needs another surgery to remove the pins on her feet. Apparently the doctors didn’t mention that she has to pay for the follow up check up and removal of pins as the initial surgery cost a lot.

She’s not been working since January, because she’s not been able to walk nor stand on her own feet. Her health card from work refused to shoulder the expenses for her 2nd surgery. This is quite devastating to her and her family, We can only imagine how painful and depressing her situation is as she couldn’t and won’t be able to support herself this time.

The schedule of the next surgery will be in March 22, 2019. We, her friends, are asking for financial assistance to cover her sugery, temporary monthly fees and medication. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
