Help Melanie Live to See Her Daughter Grow

Melanie Galit, fondly called by her family and friends as Ate Lek, is a 37-year-old single mother. She is a cousin of my husband. She is kind, approachable, and the most loving person I have ever known. She is a responsible daughter, a loving sister, a kind aunt, and a true friend. Her daughter, Allyana, is also well loved like her mother. She is obedient, smart, and caring. Ate Lek’s greatest dream is to see her daughter grow up as a smart and God-fearing person.

Ate Lek used to own a small sari-sari store and an online selling business to support Allyana. She wanted to make sure that she is there while she was growing up. Still, due to financial hardship, she decided to work as a babysitter and house cleaner in Qatar. It was really difficult for her to be away from her daughter, but she believed that it is worth the sacrifice. However, she had to go back to the Philippines after seven months because she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She is bravely fighting her disease and is positive that she will be able to survive her now stage 3 cancer.

Because of her disease and her family’s persistence in making sure that she will be saved, they had to sell their family vehicle. Her family are now in a lot of debt because of her condition. They need financial support as she needs six more high dose chemotherapy sessions in order to save her life. The doctors said that removing the tumor through operation is not possible because of its risky location. Her family and loved ones is eager to save her but each session will cost PHP60,000.

I, myself, am a witness to Ate Lek’s selfless love for her daughter and family. She was always there when we need her. Now is the time for me to do something to save her life. Please help us save her as she deserves to see her daughter grow up. She deserves a second chance in life.
