HI, my name is Patrick John Ramos 25 years of age from caloocan city philppines
To think that it’s been a year , blows my mind! I broke my Femur last year july 8, 2017,
it was a clean break, right in the middle of the bone. I went through an operation, internal fixation was done. Titanium rod was inserted from my hip down to my knee (Intramedullary Nailing) I've got a rod now in my femur and 4 screws to support my weight.
I had to use crutches for 3.5 months. Im not yet fully recovered today but as time goes by im getting better day by day. Thank you Lord!
I think sometimes God allows us to endure hardships and make us feel like He's breaking us in order to understand His glory, His ways, and His plans. Life in this world is such a messy and it isn't always good but it made us see the big picture of God. We will never understand that God is strong if we don't feel that we are weak. We will never understand that He's a God of comfort if we never grieve. He gives purpose in the pain.
It takes a lot of courage to share about our past or traumatic experiences. You may feel that people will judge you, pity you, and will not accept you. But God intentionally allows us to go through painful experiences. The ones we've wanted to hide and forget are the experiences God wants to use to bless and help others. For God to use it, we must be willing to share them. STOP covering them up! And START admitting your faults, failures, and fears.
It’s been 2 years since I had an operation to have an IM Nail inserted into my left leg, and although I don’t get really get any pain ( just a little maybe?), just niggles here and there, I have been pondering whether to have it removed? Having the metal in my leg does not stop me doing anything ( actually it does) but feel maybe I have become a little reluctant to put myself into situations that might damage the leg. Also, there is a concern if I had another accident, there is no way to predict how the metal in my leg would react? Would it help or make the situation worse?
I went to see the consultant and run through the options and risks as although it seems having the IM Nail removed is far less traumatic than having it put in, it would mean having a general anesthetic and being on crutches again for a few weeks. There is always a possibility of complications with a procedure like this and if I’m basically fine now ( i think for now), then maybe it’s not worth the risk?
I hope that you could help me make my everyday worry free of any complications in the future and no more pain from here and there. I just need a little help from our friends and family, even anyone who know the struggles of having a rod inserted on your body.
