My dream is to volunteer in Africa. As I am currently pursuing a career in k-12 art education, I have always wanted to volunteer and help children who are in need of a better education. And now that I am approaching my senior year at Central Michigan University, I want to take a gap year and make my volunteering dream come true. My passion for teaching art is what drives me to want to inspire others. I want to help the children find something they love, or find a skill that they didnt know they had. If I got the chance to volunteer I know I could help the children in Ghana. Even if I could just help, or inspire one person/child while I am on my volunteer journey, it would all be worth it. I have found a program in Ghana, that I have fallen in love with. I have been accepted into the program the only problem is I cant afford the traveling cost and program fee. As a full time college student my bank account is really small, and my college loans are building up. which is why I am asking for your help. The program I found was The Kids’ Creative Art centre. This program is based in the Ashanti region of Ghana near Kumasi. The art centre was built by volunteers and is now being used as a library and creative art hub for orphans and vulnerable children in the area. Any donations will go towards air fair, program fee, and living expenses while in Ghana.
