Help me visit the Big Apple

About me

I am a 22-year old student, living in Bulgaria. Haven't heard of it? That is completely fine. Bulgaria is a jewel in Eastern Europe with amazing nature and history sites. Since I was very young, I fell in love with travelling and seeing new places around the world.
Unfortunately, being a resident of the poorest country in the EU, I find daily struggles financially to make ends meet. I started working a month after I turned 18, fortunately in an international company and this helped me have a normal life, compared to the country standard. However, my financial capabilities only go so far. I support my parents and put food on the table every month and even though I am happy with what I have accomplished so far, I am far away from good financial state.

The dream(s)

So far I have had several 'big' dreams, and unfortunately, I have turned my back on them:

First - since I was 7, I really wanted to be an actor. I had an acting career in theater until the age of 18 and I really enjoyed every second spent on the stage. However, I had to stop with the acting, as I needed to find a well-paid job to support my family, which is poor.

Then I really wanted to study abroad and got accepted to several prestigious universities in the UK. Unfortunately, the fees were exorbitantly high and there was no way for my family to pay even the dormitory fees, let alone tuition. So I stayed in Bulgaria and I am trying to make a career here.

The only big dream I have left and I don't think it's too late to act on is to visit what I believe is the greatest city on Earth - New York City. I have had this dream for many years now and I always plan my trip and try to save the money needed, however life keeps pushing in on me and this dream is always left behind... So far I have gathered around 500 euros to support my trip, however this is nothing and is not even enough to cover the plane tickets.

To top all of that, I am dealing with several medical issues of my own, which really motivate me to make my dream come true, before it is too late. Such conditions make you think about the future and the road left ahead... I always try to stay positive and keep a smile on my face, however the medical bills that incur due to those are making fulfilling my dream even more difficult.

To those kind people who decide to help me (regardless of whether it's a dollar or many more), I cannot give a lot in return. But I promise you, you will help me make a life-long dream come true and will put a smile on my face for a long, long time. And don't smiles make the world a better place?
