I'm Calvin Masopoga from South Africa. I teach school kids chess and help them with Mathematics at our Seshego Community library. The initiative has attracted many even the unemployed youth who volunteer to help & suggested we host weekly & monthly competitions.

My biggest challenge is chess equipment and also a formal location because the library is small, has no proper seating, it's a "no-noise" zone and it closes early especially on Saturdays.

My goal is to them teach chess, Mathematics and computer programming. The money raised will be spent on chess equipment, buying computers & tablets, maintaining and relocating to the a spacious & secured community hall we've been granted permission to use by our community councilor & ward committee.

I've seen the impact on how this initiative has helped these kids academically and their self-esteem. A few weeks later, the child's eager to learn and problem-solving skill gets sharpened.

Thanks for reading.
