It has always been my dream to study cinematography and become a director of photography one day. Since there is no film school in my country I have applied to German Film and Television Academy Berlin after I had succesfully finished my Film and Television bachelor degree in Turkey. After few months of anxiety and stress I finally heard back from the school; I passed the first stage and am invited to Berlin for the entrance examinations. After the 10-day stressful entrance examinations in Berlin I received a letter saying that I was accepted to study for four years. I have never been that happy before. It was the first step to achieve my dreams. But right now there is a possibility that I might not be able to go to Berlin because of bureaucratic and financial reasons, and this possibility makes me really upset.
Since I am a Turkish citizen, I need a temporary resident visa to study in Germany. One of the conditions to get a student visa - in case you don't have a scholarship (I couldn't find any because my school isn't a state university) - you need to deposit 8640 Euro in a blocked account. But because of the recent Turkey's lira crisis this amount equals to around 60.000 Turkish Lira. I have a single mother who always supported me but since she went bankrupt few years ago, she is not able to provide me this amount.
I am sincerely grateful for any contribution and am quite confident that I will make great movies one day you will watch in cinemas.
