Bine ai venit pe pagina mea,

If you got here you're somehow interested in my cause and why I want to study in Romania. Next, I would like to tell you more about who I am and what I have proposed for my experience.

Who am I?

My name is Vitor, I'm 20 years old and I'm from Brazil. In my free time, I like to hang out with my friends and have a good time, also, I'm passionate about studying world languages and cultures. I've studied Business Administration here in Florianopolis, Brazil, for one year and now I'm making everything I can to study International Relations in Iasi, Romania.

What’s behind my decision? Why Romania?

Everything started last year when I got approved on a AIESEC volunteer program in Iasi, northern Romania. I could have never imagined it was a life changing experience.
My project was about preparing and conducting classes on administration topics, such as time and stress management, creativity and presentation skills to IT, Engineering and Marketing students. It was great from the beginning, all romanians were very welcoming and kind. I’ve learned so much with the other internationals, everybody had somehting to contribute and share experiences. I made friends very fast, the ones that I knew I could count on. The people from AIESEC were always supporting and helping us with the preparation, doing what they could so everything would be great for us and for the students.
We were always around the university, so I could really get in touch with other students and their way of living and why they also chose to go to Iasi.
After a few weeks I was in love with Iasi, I really loved the places, the people, the language, the weather (winter <3), the life quality and cost of living. I felt like that was my place, so I started to look for a way I could go back there in the future. Since I was always around the University, I sent an email asking what were the ways to join a course there. Well, there was a Romanian Government Scholarship, that I applied for but unfortunately I was denied, and there is the option to be a full paying student and that's what I'm trying now.
For what am I using the money?
My parents are supporting me but I still need some financial help. This fundraising is going to help to pay the documents, its translations and mailing to Romania, the dormrooom for the first semester and basic daily things, such as public transportation and meals. The cost of living in Romania is cheaper than in Brazil, I’ve been there and I could compare and also there’s this website that helps me too goo.gl/jv47qG. And for instance, 1 real (brazilian currency) = 1,24 lei (romanian currency). I’ll also pay the airport taxes from the flight tickets.

What do I expect from this experience?

I want to have a good education, so I can have better chances on a good career. I expect to become more independent and to learn how to live on my own. Live in the place I fell in love with and be close to the people that I like. Also, learn more about other cultures and spread mine, make people know more about Brazil and its beauties. Meet new people and evolve my network

Thank you very much for reading my story.
