My name is Pastory John Magoti. I was born and grew-up in Musoma-Tanzania. Unfortunately, my parents passed away when I was still young but my grandmother managed to raise me up. At the moment I am married and blessed with two children: a boy and girl. The girl has already started going to school and she is performing well. However, it has been over two years since I lost my job and my life has not been easy because I cannot manage to take care of my family and my grandmother who is sick. My grandmother suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes. She needs some constant medicine and I cannot manage to provider them for her because I am jobless. In fact, my own family and friends are tired of me at the moment and they see me as a burden to them. That is why I want to start-up my own business courier services and general supplies in Mwanza. This is to help me to be able to take care of my family and grandmother.
PJM Courier Services and General Supplies is a registered and licensed delivery company. I have been able to secure all the required documentation and a standard and well located office facility that is highly suitable for the kind of business I am into. The head office will be situated in Nyakato-Mwanza and I hope to sometime in the nearest future have branches scattered all across major towns and cities in the United Republic of Tanzania.
PJM Courier Services and General Supplies will be involved in all aspects of courier services such as domestic air transit deliveries, international air transit deliveries, ground deliveries, messengers and local deliveries et al. My business goal is to become one of the leading courier and delivery services company in Mwanza and I will make sure that every services deliveries I handle competes favourably with the best in the industry in terms of time and safety.
I am aware that there are several large and small courier and delivery services companies all around Mwanza, which is why I spent time and resources to conduct a thorough feasibility studies and market survey so as to position my business in strategic location in Nyakato-Mwanza and also to offer much more than my competitors will be offering in terms of price, safety and of course customer service delivery.
Much more than safe delivering and excellent jobs, my customer care is going to be second to none in the whole of Mwanza. I know that my customers are the reason why I am in business which is why I will go the extra mile to get them satisfied when they patronize my services and also to become my loyal customers and ambassadors.

The business will be managed by myself who is a graduate of Master of Arts in Regional Integration and Development with specialisation in Trade. I will bring my experience and expertise to help build and grow PJM Courier Services and General Supplies to compete favourably with other leading companies in the global courier and delivery services industry in the United Republic of Tanzania.
PJM Courier Services and General Supplies is a local, global courier and delivery services industry for the purpose of making profits and I will ensure I go all the way to position my business to favourably compete for available market in the industry. I am going to do all that is permitted by the laws in the United Republic of Tanzania to achieve my business goals. Therefore, here are some of services which I will offer;

A major weakness that may count against us is the fact that we are a new courier and delivery services company and we don’t have the financial capacity to compete with multi-million dollas companies such as Fed Ex Corporation and DHL who are key establishments in this industry.
The fact that people and businesses are always sending parcels and documents from one location to another provides us with unlimited opportunities. We have been able to conduct thorough feasibility studies and market survey and we know what our potential clients will be looking for when they patronize our services; we are well positioned to take on the opportunities that will come our way.
Just like any other business, one of the major threats that we are likely going to face is economic downturn. It is a fact that economic downturn affects purchasing/ spending power. Another threat that may likely confront us is the arrival of a new courier and delivery services company in the same location where ours is located. Unfavourable government policies and technology can also pose a threat to businesses such as ours.

The sales projections are based on information gathered on the field and some assumptions that are peculiar to start-ups in Mwanza. Therefore, below are the sales projections for PJM Courier Services and General Supplies, it is based on the location of our business and the wide range of services that we will be offering;
- First Fiscal Year: USD 3,850.
- Second Fiscal Year: USD 9,700.

NB: This projection is done based on what is obtainable in the industry and with the assumption that there won’t be any major economic meltdown and natural disasters within the period stated above. - Cost for payment of rent for 12 month at $ 50 in the total amount of $ 600.
- The amount needed for the purchase of insurance policy cover (general liability, workers’ compensation and property casualty) coverage at a total premium-$ 1500.
- The cost for the purchase of furniture and gadgets for the office (photocopy machine, computers, mobile phone, printing machine, scanning machine, chairs and tables et al)-$ 2, 000.
- The cost for purchase of two delivery motorbikes and branding them-$ 2,000.
- The cost for purchase of one used van-$ 1500.
- Other start-up expenses including stationery-$ 300.
