My passion since I was a little kid growing up in Shah Alam, has always been to help others who are in need and contribute to the society.
I remember there was a time I prayed to God to make me into a Superman, so that I can realize this passion of mine... You probably guessed right... This prayer of mine was not answered, for obvious reasons...
Being a superman is not limited to having the strength of a thousand man. A super human is the one who goes out of his way and means to help others, as though he was a thousand man. I do not claim righteousness for myself, but I go to the extent of helping even though I am in no position financially to do so. The word "unselfish" comes to my mind.... "Philanthropy" is another...
My life was good, and simple... Striving to make a living while continuing with my passion... However, a very sad and unfortunate thing happened, that ended up in a divorce. Since then, my financials went haywire.. I started to get into debt in order to provide a new furnished home for my ex-wife and continue (to present time) to give financial support to my kids who stayed with her, while still hoping and praying vehemently that she will return. But, to no avail.. Then, I married a widow with 4 children, mainly to help her because she was in deep financial problems too.
I also strove to upgrade myself, embarking on formal and informal studies my studies, which also contributed to my financial burden, among other factors.
Although I face a huge problem financially, I still continued with my passion to contribute to society, without hesitation, including running a tahfiz school in Klang, a teaching facility in Shah Alam (had to be closed down to reduce cost), and recently another tahfiz school plus higher learning in Putrajaya, which I borrowed a large some of money for, and looked for funds to help it sustain and grow.
And not to forget, I also promised my teacher (Shaikh Taofeeq) to help to build 2-3 mosques in Nigeria, a Pasentren (school) in Indonesia, and more, individually, and as projects that I parked under a nonprofit charity organization, I am the Vice Chairman of. However, all these projects are still waiting for funds to really get going.
Recently, at 48years old, I quit my job as in a Multinational Company, to devote myself to my passion, fulltime. But I realized that my financial situation was hampering me from much progress. I began to acknowledge that I personally will need sincere help from others, to reduce my debts, and obtain sufficient funds to develop self-sustaining businesses and qualifications, in order to be in a healthy financial position to help others.
Immediately after resignation, I initiated Joolyea.com to help would-be travelers in making the right economical choice for their flights and accommodation, but I lacked funds to properly market the website. I am also hoping to develop a herbal product and market it, based on black turmeric, but again, need funds to start. Already a qualified Lead Auditor for ISO9001:2015, I am planning to complete my Lead Auditor qualifications for integrated management system, just adding Environment, Safety and Automotive requirements, and but need funds for that.
My health has also been deteriorating of late, which was another reason that prompt me to quit my job to reduce stress, and do the things I am passionate about. Gout attacks are becoming more frequent, signaling the need for healthier diet regime, which is more expensive, to say the least.
My estimates of funds needed:
Debts RM120,000 ($29,000)
Capital for Business Startup and upgrade of personal qualifications RM75,000 ($18,000)
3 mosques in Nigeria RM150,000 ($36,000)
School in Indonesia RM350,000 ($86,000)
School in Putrajaya RM150,000 ($36,000)
And one more thing...
I love cats. I own 15 cats all living in the apartment we are living in. Their food and litter alone, costs nearly RM1,000 ($240) per month. I am already contemplating letting them free because I can no longer afford it. But I do hope this campaign can help me hold on to them.
To conclude, your help is highly hoped for to support this campaign to raise enough funds, at least, to complete the projects mentioned above, which I place as bigger priority than my own debt. Just US$5 (RM21+)only. If collected funds are above the amount required, rest assured that they will go to more charity works and projects which show up in abundance from time to time. Thank you for helping me to help others.
